Hollyoaks producers have said that 2011 will be the 'year of the serial killer' in the soap.
Paul Marquess made the comments following a dark Christmas storyline in which sensible student India Longford, played by Beth Kingston, was murdered by Silas Blissit (Jeff Rawle) after they made contact on a dating website.
And he warned fans of the show that he could notch up more victims.
"That won't be the only time he strikes," he said. "I think various Hollyoaks characters should be very, very careful during the next year."
Show bosses also said that they hoped the plot would highlight the importance of online safety.
Paul also hinted in his interview that he may bring another familiar face back to the soap in 2011, following the return of Warren Fox, Mandy Richardson and Lee Hunter.
"We've got to work it out but if we've got it right it would be very exciting," he said.
